چکیده

This work presents and evaluates different approaches of integrated optical sensors based on photonic circuit (PIC) technologies for refractive index sensing. Bottlenecks in the fabrication flow towards an applicable system are discussed that hinder a cost-effective mass-production disposable sensor chips. As device, waveguide coupled micro-ring approach is chosen which manufactured 8” wafer level process. We will show co-integration with reproducible, scalable low-cost microfluidic interface main challenge needs to be overcome future application silicon technology PIC • Si channel. Co-integration electronic, bio environment. Proof concept interchangeable chip point-of-care diagnostics.

Hybridoma: On-chip Cell Fusion Lab in a Tube Lab on a Chip

Antibodies have been used for many different applications ranging from basic biological studies to therapeutics. For example, antibodies are used in treatments as wide ranging as cancer care, autoimmune disease therapy, and to prevent rejection of transplanted organs. This requires large quantities of antibodies, which can be supplied via hybridoma generation. Hybridomas are hybrid cell lines f...

Lab-on-chip systems for integrated bioanalyses

Biomolecular detection systems based on microfluidics are often called lab-on-chip systems. To fully benefit from the miniaturization resulting from microfluidics, one aims to develop 'from sample-to-answer' analytical systems, in which the input is a raw or minimally processed biological, food/feed or environmental sample and the output is a quantitative or qualitative assessment of one or mor...

Big lab on a tiny chip.

■ Ultimately, consumers could have labs-on-chips in their home for fast diagnosis of common illnesses. —The Editors Imagine shrinking the beakers, eyedroppers, chemicals and heaters of a chemistry lab onto a little microchip that could dangle from a key chain. A growing number of companies and universities are claiming to have devised such marvels, ready to perform vital analyses from detecting...
